A 3 day festival of Syrian films, music and theatre, London & Edinburgh, March 15-17 2012

We’re very excited to announce the launch of our latest project, Reel Syria. As with all Reel Festivals, we’ll be holding a wide variety of events in a wide variety of venues, and bringing some of the best films, music, discussions and talks to you direct from Syria.

Reel Festivals 2011 Lebanon/Syria/Scotland – April Update

There’s less than 2 weeks until the opening of Reel Festivals 2011 in Lebanon, and 3 weeks until the opening in Scotland, so there’s a lot to tell you.

 

Refocus – Exhibition in Edinburgh during Reel Festivals

We are very happy to announce another great event as part of Reel Festivals 2011. We will be hosting an exhibition of photographs taken by children and young people during Refocus workshops held in Syria. Refocus is a grassroots organisation running participatory photography courses for minority groups and marginalised people.

The exhibition will be held at the Filmhouse Cinema and runs from 16.5.11 until 12.6.11.

Postponing Reel Festivals in Syria

It is with great regret that Reel Festivals has to announce the postponement of our events in Syria. Due to recent events in the country we feel now is not the appropriate time for a festival there. We will keep in close communication with our partners in Syria and of course hope to hold events there in the future.

 

ReelTV

We’ve entered a new era: the era of ReelTV! Check out our video selection featuring films from previous festivals as well as lots of footage from some of the acts taking part in this years festival in Syria, Lebanon and Scotland. There will be more footage going up over the next few weeks and especially during the festival in May, when we’ll have daily updates and interviews popping up, so make sure to stay tuned!
